M. R. Koch
Am wondering if anyone can identify the car that my cousins are posing with. Picture was taken in the late 1910 to early 1920s... Thanks in advance for your assistance...
nickelroadster
The hub caps look to be early twenties Oldsmobile. Can't really see any identifiers other than the headlights and the rear window. It could be a model 46 or 47. Model 47 was slightly smaller with a 115" wheelbase as opposed to 122" for the 46. I would suspect that this is a 921to 1923 model 47.
95Cardinal
I think it might be a 1922 or 23 Oakland; very similar body shapes and top details. Other images show artillery wheels instead of wire spokes.
keiser31
I agree with the Oldsmobile i.d....the hubs are the same, too.
nickelroadster
Sombrero hubcaps that covered the whole hub are an Oldsmobile trademark that was used for over ten years. Besides that! when Keiser 31 agrees with you, you have to be righ t Edited August 29, 2020 by nickelroadster (see edit history)
oldcarfudd
Are the drum headlights earlier or later?
nickelroadster
Drum headlights mean early twenties. The car that Keiser shows is from the late teens, probably a model45.
