Why when I post comments with pictures I cannot get a thumbs up icon for people to respond?

You actually do so just wait to see. They come to your notifications folder.

You can't give yourself a thumbs up; you don't have the thumbs up icon on your own posts. When other users read your post, they see the icon. I just gave you a thumbs up on the original question. See it?
