1928 Chrysler Imperial Phaeton Touralette with cane work, Locke?

 

Please tell me this one still exists...

Found on Pinterest that lead me to a link full of surprises.

Wouldn't something like this be great to have today? Steerable front and rear wheels, driven by the fixed center axle? I am not sure where the engine is, under the front hood or under the rear body (something down there?)? 

Such an interesting vehicle regardless! Get about six or seven of your best friends and go on a Horseless Carriage or Veteran tour!

Sydney, Australia, 21 May 1938. I guess 'Aeroplane Jellies' were sweets (candy).  The vehicles look to be a 1933 Dodge and a 1937 Chevrolet pickup. It is more than likely they will have been bodied in Australia.

It is amazing what they were experimenting with early on...

Here's a Graham Brothers (a division of Dodge Brothers) prototype that was made available to the City of Detroit for a very brief period in 1927/28
