Jack Worstell
I know there have been several posts on the subject... putting a 263 from a Dynaflow-equipped car into a late 1930s (esp 1937) Special ... but I can't find these threads. So... does anyone have the patience to educate me on what I would be getting into to attempt this project?? Thanks, Jack Worstell

1939_Buick
You need to use the front plate from the original engine for front engine mount. Not use the 263 side mounts Not 100% sure but I think you may need to use the 1937 bell housing for the mounts/transmission. Dynaflow cranks are different. Needs a modification for clutch/standard transmission https://forums.aaca.org/topic/248120-alteration-to-263cuin-crankshaft/ Are other threads on using 263ci engines in earlier cars. You are not the first Edit https://forums.aaca.org/topic/159796-putting-a-263-into-the-40/ https://www.teambuick.com/community/index.php?threads/1947-to-1952-engine-swap.22717/ Good detail Edited January 25, 2020 by 1939_Buick (see edit history)
