countrytravler
Any way to ID the engine without the engine number? Like to find out if it had the 331 or 354. What kind og trans with shift handle on the dash. Thanks Dave PS Not use to these newer cars. LOL
StillOutThere
A shift handle for the auto trans being located on the dash is an exclusive identifier of a 1955 Mopar (any line). The 331 Hemi was in the '55 Chrysler and Imperial. The 354 came out with the '56 cars.

JACK M
I always forget what they are called (torqueflight, powerflight) but The change from two to three speeds happened during the 56 model year. If you have determined this car to be a 55 with the lever on the dash and its a Hemi it will be a 331. The 354 was 1956 only in the cars. Sorry, I guess Stilloutthere already said that.
