ChazA
Same someone post this elsewhere, and no one knew car make/model. Can anyone help identify this person's grandfather's car? Thanks, Chuck

trimacar
I agree on the Model 16, but would add that this picture was probably taken in 1914 or 1915. That's a guess based on later horn and headlights ( you can see original horn bracket hanging on right front of cowl), and the fact that someone has added a radiator emblem, which the Model 16 did not have. Also, a Prestolite tank has been added to running board, to replace original acetylene generator. They were available in red and a dark blue, this one appears to be the lighter red.
AHa
I believe that would be a model 17. The model 16 is the roadster is it not?
oldcarfudd
The Model 16 was available as a roadster or a toy tonneau. The 17 was a full touring car, with a much heavier-looking non-detachable rear body.
trimacar
Correct, Model 16 available as a roadster, then the also available toy tonneau has a removable rear section so that it could be used as a roadster,. The Model 16 also had a much longer hood than the Model 17, to make it appear as though it had a six cylinder engine....
