  1. I know 120 miles away or so, but Butch's Transmissions in Syracuse may be able to help if you can't find anyone. They just rebuilt my transmission in my '66 Caddy. They also did my '66 Nova a decade ago. They know the old cars. Chuck
  2. Took my '65 Cadillac Eldorado tonight and a nice Franklin, Cadillac, a '41 V12 Lincoln, and a Pierce Arrow *survivor* showed up at our local cruise night! (Sno Top Ice Cream for those in area). On another good note, the green 4-door survivor on end belongs to a kid in college, who had 3 of his friends in the car! I asked him to display the car inside for the upcoming Syracuse Nationals. Chuck
  3. Steve thanks. Edited above, July 16-18, 2021. We have some local AACA members going there and they will be looking. I had a transmission go on a car I was supposed to bring , but I still may make the trip too! Thanks, Chuck
  4. ATTN all upstate NY members and surrounding states. I am a volunteer coordinator for the Oneida Lake Region AACA "Memories on Mainstreet" display at the Syracuse Nationals July 16-18, 2021, Horticulture building this year. This show draws a crowd of around 90,000 people, along with around 8000 cars! (One of the largest gatherings in the Northeast) I have helped put on this display for the last 15 years or so, and have been the coordinator for the last 8-9 years. Typically, we display cars from the early 1990s to 1989, many from local AACA members. We usually sign up people to become AACA members (National and local) as we have a table in the building hosted by other volunteers from the OLR club. Usually I only have enough room for 10 or so non- OLR member cars outside of the club (33 total). However, this year we have the *entire* NY State Fair Horticulture Building. I believe I can fit another 50-60 cars as of today. Cars need to be original looking cars. Although the cars in this building are not judged, one will be selected as a top "Memories on Mainstreet" car. OK to bring stanchions if you like, but have not had any issues. If you have attended this show in the past, the benefit is your car will be indoors, vs the 7000+ that are outside. Cars will be spaced further apart this year. Please send me a message if you are interested and I can send details. This is a great 3 day show! Chuck
  5. Not sure if same for other cars, but on my Cadillacs, I use the offset wheel weights (CAX weights) so the the wheel covers fit. If regular weights used, interferes with the wheel covers and won't install or fit incorrectly on small weights. Another fix is the newer weights on inside of wheels to balance. Chuck
  6. I have 5 parts cars-Cadillac, and a 40' Conex, along with another 40' containers worth of parts (Mostly 60s Cadillac, some 50s and 70s, along with Nova and 69 Mopar parts). Much easier to restore with parts cars, but have 14 acres to store stuff. Chuck

  8. Just saw check cashed on 5/20, which was sent in Feb for this GN. From earlier post, wondering if a decision has been made if checks are being cashed (as supposedly they were waiting to be cashed until they knew), or not related to any decision as of course they can always write a check from region to refund.

  10. I'm a lifetime member, along with my 20 year old son as I got him a lifetime membership too a while back. He drives a '65 Cadillac Eldorado and is already a Master Judge...a good deal for him, considering how active he is in AACA, and the local AACA club Chuck
  11. I have had 3 done here, excellent work. 65-66 Cadillac radios, preserving original look. He will also add cable to connect phone, etc.. https://www.yelp.com/biz/precision-stereo-repair-marcy-2 "Specialties 1946 to 1990 Antique and Classic Car radio Repair and 1970 to 1980 Antique and Classic Home Stereo Repair I don't install car stereo's History Established in 1977. 12. Same someone post this elsewhere, and no one knew car make/model. Can anyone help identify this person's grandfather's car? Thanks, Chuck

As of today planning on these so far: 66 Cadillac DeVille convertible. 95% done with 9 yr frame up resto with 19 yr old son 65 Cadillac Eldorado vert-my son's car he drives, survivor 67 Nova ...we need to wait until 2022 to bring our survivor low mileage '97 Caddy OK, I will. Thanks! Chuck
  14. Packing up the RV...if interested in any parts below, pm. Thanks!
  15. *Bumping to top as I will be at Hershey again this year camping. All the '41 caddy stuff sold, '57 continental kit sold, but have duplicates now of many other items here and can bring to Hershey if interested. Thanks! Chuck
  16. Hi Ted, Yes, I am planning on going and I am registered. I am just outside of Syracuse, around 13 miles. I have a 40' diesel pusher RV and trailer behind it with car, so it should fit I camp each year in the field across from the wooded rollercoasters. ETA Tue, until Sat night, or Sun morn. PM for details. Chuck
  17. Glad to hear. We had a Cadillac LaSalle Club Grand National meet in Lake George a few years ago, which is very close. Great area for a show. It will be the closest one ever to me, 150 miles, so we'll be able to easily bring multiple cars Sure. Thanks! Chuck
  18. Syracuse, NY Currently hosts one of the largest shows in the Northeast, the Syracuse Nationals. https://syracusenationals.com/ Held at the NYS fairgrounds. Plenty of camping 300+ full hookups) and plenty of parking. I volunteer with my son and put on the AACA display in the Horticulture building. 8000 cars and 100,000 attendees. The variable is how much it costs to rent (not sure). Would need at least all three regions in area, Oneida Lake (I am member), Finger Lakes, and Norwich to assist. Great location with no traffic to speak of in area. There may be other locations in Central NY too if fairgrounds too much $$$ (One of the Universities). Chuck
  19. I missed the short window back on the 10th to reply to the survey too.
  20. Again, Jeff said "appears"...not he wrote in for the judging sheet and the response back was "lights". Judge here too, and of course the benefit of the doubt should ALWAYS go to the car as you say and all judges that I have met know that Good point on West mentioning relaying to judges, but some assumptions on the thread here Sounds like Jeff had a good time (nothing spoiled), and won a first junior! Again, looks like he is just preparing for other meets, say CLC or Senior award.
  21. Jeff said "appears", not he did. No mention of judging sheet request, but even if...would just say category. Sounds like Jeff just getting prepared for any future meets, AACA or other such as CLC, which is great Team captain may ask questions, but doesn't necessarily mean points off....really no way to tell. 46woodie mentioned shouldn't take off if not sure, I would edit to wouldn't, per judging school.
  22. 1967 Chevy Nova bought new by my late grandfather from: H.M. Williams Chevrolet Jackson Heights, Queens, New York (Dealer moved to Smithtown NY in 70s?, now Smithtown Chevy) First pic, my late grandmother circa 1967-68 Second pic, my mom in Aug 1989, Earl Sheib paint Third pic, me in 2018, AACA Grand National Meet. Received AACA Senior GN at that meet.
  23. Maybe the simple answer is yes, the car was sold, but never left. Possibly the transport fell through to bring it back to the US. Maybe if it wasn't drivable, they ran into issues, and eventually was sold back without the car ever even moving From 55-59, after multiple attempts to transport, they just said forget it. Chuck
  24. For the first pic you could see it's either a 65 or 66. And from the last pic, it's a 66, not a 65. Also, typical for the hood to rise in that area when hinges are old, worn, not lubed, etc.. vs a fit issue. On my '65 driver, it does the same thing and I have to push it down Chuck
  25. Nice piece on the 2018 Grand National in this months magazine! Thanks also to some members who called/emailed/ let me know that I am on pg 35 (with my Nova). I didn't know as my subscription expired, and I usually renew at Hershey Just renewed Thanks! Chuck
