Scott Farrington
I'm trying to remove the map light switch from a 49 and cannot for the life of me figure it out. Not wanting to break the bakelite ... anyone with any tips?

Next time you post, put a bit more thought into what sub-forum you’re posting in. This is the General forum. Technical questions and discussions fit better in either the Post or Pre War Technical forum. Makes for easier searching in the future. Now excuse me while I go back to bed and get up on the right side next time 1

I am going to err on the cautious side and make a new post over in the post war subforum...don't want Mr. Earl to still be on the wrong side of me when he sees this post again. 🙂 Edited August 29, 2019 by Scott Farrington spelling is fundamental (see edit history)

Not wanting to break the bakelite ... anyone with any tips? A Master Parts Book says that one #10-32 x 7/16" round slotted-head bolt holds each of the two map lights to the instrument panel's control plate. A light and a mirror reflecting what's behind the instrument panel should give you a better idea where this plate and bolt is. Good luck. Scott Farrington
For the next person who has no idea how to do this: take the bulb out and pull, comes right off.
