Year and model of my dad's Packard ??

I believe this is a 1930 Packard  but uncertain of what model, possibly a 733 Standard 8 but would love to know for certain.

 

I know my father was very proud of this car but passed before I could ascertain any details. He bought it used around 1935 in Westchester Co, NY, and enjoyed if for many years. Unfortunately I didn't arrive in time to insist it stay in the family. 😢

I think you have it called correct. One detail it is a desirable dual cowl phaeton. very nice.

Thanks, Andrew. I poked around online looking at photos of this model and it sure looks like it. This is confusing business unless you're a Packard fan. Someday maybe I'll be a  Packard owner.

Yes, 1930 Packard Standard Eight, Series 733, Sport Phaeton, Body Style No. 431.  No wonder he was quite proud of it, all of us would be delighted with such a wonderful Packard!

  Looks like the driver is bundled up in a raccoon coat. Must have been a cool day.

Anybody notice the chrome disk wheels on the factory picture, I don't think I have ever seen that before?  Did your father keep it till after the war?  Anything that survived the scrap drive might still be around.

Chrome disk wheels were a factory option but rarely seen.  This is the first Standard Eight I've seen pictured with them.  There are factory photos of a '30 734 Speedster Runabout (the boat-tail) so equipped.  It was definitely most likely to be specified for sporty, open models.
