Terry Bond
My old friend Arthur Spanjar will not be at Hershey. I was shocked to learn he passed away in July. I first met him many years ago at an antique toy show in London. Arthur was a collector and dealer in early and rare automotive relics, and anything else that was mechanical. Early toys were a special passion for him. His displays at Hershey were literally museum exhibits of amazing and unusual early objects! It often seemed that He and his bride Candy, were always one step ahead of us in the antique markets. It's amazing how year after year we managed to run across each other in one of the many antique malls or events before the Hershey meet. Arthur had exquisite tastes, a discerning eye, and the most amazing luck I've ever seen in finding the things he enjoyed. He was unmistakable with his wild hair, gigantic mustache and his unique Dutch accent. We'll really miss the chance to share the thrill of discovery and the never-ending treasure hunting we so enjoyed. Terry
1937hd45
That is the sad part about Hershey, every year another friend is there in spirit watching over us, and we get to relive the great moments we had with them. Bob
