29tons
1956 354 hemi Someone told me when installing spark plugs that you are supposed to remove the gasket for the plug. Is this true?
JACK M
The tube is the gasket, They were supposed to be replaced during a tune up. Tubes may last longer if the gasket was left on the spark plug. I try not to bear down to hard on the plugs and I do take the gasket off of the plug. Rusty_OToole
Yes you are supposed to remove the gasket. The aluminum spark plug tube forms the gasket at the bottom. When they get worn you are supposed to replace the tube and the round seal that goes on it.
