what frame and what year is this

hubby brought home this and was told model a frame,,, cant find any numbers on it and cant figure out if it is a model a or not

Missed it by a few letters but really just one, Model T Ford.

Model "T" indeed, and one of the later ones judging by the running board support style. Pressed sheet steel rather than a forging.

1925 (as well as '26/'27) will have the brake handle ratchet held onto the frame by only two rivets. All earlier ones were held on by four rivets. The '26/'27 model years had longer rear cross members.  1920 could be either forged or rolled channel running board brackets.

He is talking about the curved piece just ahead of the bracket in your last picture. Is there 2 rivets at each end (late 1920, all of 1921-24} or only one {1925} .Your frame has too narrow a rear crossmember to be 1926 or 27.

That bracket with the two nuts is the starter switch, you pressed on it with your foot to start the car. Your frame will not fit a 1926-27 T, they has different front fender brackets and a wider rear crossmember. Bob

1912Staver and 1937hd45 covered your additional question just fine! The brake handle ratchet is just a few inches forward of that starter button/switch. Two rivets on each end of the ratchet is early up through 1924. One rivet each end is 1925 with the rear cross member your frame has, as well as '26/'27 with a longer rear cross member. 

It looks like a nice straight frame. Very nice model Ts have been restored from less.
