David Armitage
I have a 1927 chandler Big 6 sedan. The oil pump and generator have been rebuilt. Otherwise it is all original. How many point would I lose in HPOF if I were to re-paint it?
MCHinson
David, Welcome to the AACA Discussion Forum. I have moved your question from the software questions forum to the Judging forum. If you wish to enter the car in HPOF, I suggest you leave the paint alone. A repaint would be problematic if you are interested in HOPF or AACA Original Certification. Clean it, detail it, but don't paint it.
61polara
A car through 1931 can receive up to 9 deductions and still certify as HPOF. Depending how the judge takes the deduction, you may be at 9 or more deductions for a repaint. The rule is one deduction for each major body panel and fenders repainted. The judging team determines how the deduction is taken.
Frantz
Your car looks awesome! I would encourage you to go HPOF without the repaint. What a treasure you have!

61polara
Try washing it several time with a gallon of water with a cup of kerosene in the water. Let it dry on the car, then wash it again. It will make a huge difference in the paint and will protect the bare metal from rusting.
