After market sunroofs and what did you put one in ?

Not much worse than looking at and older car and finding out someone hacked the roof and installed  a sunroof. I am one of the guilty parties that did it back in the day. I had one installed in my new 1981 Chevy LUV pick-up It was the awesome flip up model.

I put one in a 1976 Chevy “custom” van in the summer of 1976. Surprised it did not leak!

I remember at my high school sponsored senior prom after prom party one of the prizes you could win was an aftermarket sunroof.   Good thing I didn't win it because at the time I drove a convertible.

I put one in my 72 Datsun pickup. Turned it into an inferno in the summer. I cut a hunk of foam rubber to fit in the opening to keep the heat out. It was nice on summer evenings

I put many in nearly new vans, cars, and pickups.

One of the trucks came back not for leaks but to put a sliding rear window in to let the heat out.

I put one in my 86 Cherokee in 2006 when repairing the roof from a jumping deer.  I figured it would reduce the length of the welds.  Even shortened the roof ribs like factory provided ones rather than the after market ones that were formed to fit the ribs.  The original optional sun roof was also a pop up.  1986 remember.
