Spinneyhill
I am considering reproducing the snouted grommets used on 1930 DC-8 Dodge Brothers cars. There are two sizes: one for a 1.188" firewall hole and one for a 0.526" firewall hole. The larger grommet has an opening of 7/16" and is 1-3/8" long. The speedo cable and coil HT & LT wires go through a grommet like this. The wires for the optional radio also used one when fitted. The smaller grommet has an opening of 3/16" and is 11/16" long. The oil pressure pipe, windscreen vacuum pipe etc. are this diameter and fit this grommet. The DC Dodge has either 2 or 3 large ones and 4 (or 5) small snouted grommets. Are there any other models that had grommets like these? For example, DD-6 Dodge, other years of Dodge? Any Chryslers like 70 or even 77? jpage
The '36 Dodge touring sedans used a grommet similar to these where the tailamp wires come up through the trunk floor but I'm not sure what size.Possibly other years did too.
