EXACTLY why I go to auctions............ What difference does it make (Buyers Premium) if you are buying right. Its a sign of the times.
mercer09
SO Mike, 25% is a sign of the times too? not my cup of tea. I find it to be a waste of time. Very few auctions that charge crazy premiums have I come out ahead, and yes, I know how to buy. To each his own...............
Joe in Canada
I have been to many factory closure auctions over the years and have done well. 15% on site and 18% on line + 3% if you use visa is a standard rate. Then some of the larger auctions with modern infrastructure they may charge US dollars here in Canada knowing there will me US bidders on line. You have to decide before the bidding starts what you are willing to pay taking in account of the extra charges.
mikewest
Buyers premiums to me are irrelevant. They keep a lot of buyers from attending and I think HURT the seller. But If Im a buyer for a car to 10 grand , I know when to quit bidding. I think they help get me get a bargain sometimes. This is just my opinion. It scares off a lot of buyers.
