Wheelmang
I am interested in the opinions of the membership on using No Ethanol gas in my 1926 DB. It is readily available in my area, albeit about 50¢ a gallon more than regular. I believe it is in the 91 - 93 octane range (not positive on that number). Would utilizing this be beneficial, harmful or of no consequence in a vehicle of this vintage? Thanks for looking Paul
jan arnett (2)
How much do you drive it. One of the problems that ethanol gas has is that it will go bad sooner in the tank. The second problem is that it breaks down gaskets in the fuel systems but you really don't have any gaskets in contact with the fuel unless you put a fuel pump in.. I don't think you will gain much by using it except if it sits a long time without being driven.
MikeC5
Yea that's what I was thinking. I've been using the 10% ethanol stuff and have had no problems. If you drive it in real hot weather I think the no ethanol will be less likely to vapor lock though.
keithb7
If you happen to have some gas with ethanol in your tank, does adding fuel stabilizer keep it fresh? Does it prevent the quick deterioration of the ethanol fuel?
