30DodgePanel
Thanks for your reply! Probably asked before but I had no idea what to search for... I assume the tank on the running board is for H20 ? Neat little car for sure...
gwells
No, that's a Prest-O-Lite acetylene tank, used to provide the gas to the car's headlights. These tanks quickly replaced running-board mounted carbide generators toward the end of the first decade of the 20th century. Here's a page with a short version of the company's history. The downloadable PDF at the bottom of the page give a much fuller version. http://www.firstsuperspeedway.com/articles/prest-o-lite
trimacar
Man, what an interesting photo. All tires muddy or worn, except spare on the Car-Nation. Nice farm home in the background, nicely in focus. Sliding barn door, with some much larger cars inside. Wood plank ramp into building, but dirt and mud at end of planks. Two guys posing, looking at what? While one guy looks dead on to camera, he's the one with no vest and coveralls, so probably the mechanic. All that good stuff inside, and one little hasp lock to secure door....great stuff, thanks for posting!!
30DodgePanel
I agree trimcar, it really is a great photo... I couldn't have said it any better. You're welcome btw, I'm glad others enjoy it as much as I do. You can almost hear the sounds - like the sound when the door is being opened in the crisp morning air in a dirty ole setting... what fun it must have been. That's when you know it's great photography !
