Pete Phillips
Working on a 1937 Century. Can someone tell me what color the little stripes in the trunk ornament should be? I'm assuming they are supposed to be something other than body color. Pete Phillips, BCA #7338 Leonard, Texas
JoelsBuicks
Pete are you talking about the recessed areas where the stainless strips go? My 37's are body color including the spaces between where the stainless goes. Joel

Pete Phillips
Okay, thanks for that. Didn't realize there were stainless strips there. They are apparently missing on the car I am working on. I suppose I can paint the recessed areas silver if I cannot find any stainless strips. Pete Phillips
MrEarl
or cut and fabricate some?
MCHinson
Or, simply call Dave Tacheny and buy some at a reasonable price. His prices are always reasonable for parts for this era of Buicks.
JoelsBuicks
Or, go to eBay and search for "1937 Buick trunk" and you'll see four or five listed.
MCHinson
The cheapest one on eBay is listed at $100 or best offer. I feel confident that if Dave has one availalble it would be less expensive than that. He might also have just the stainless strips available. Based on my experience, if you need anything for a Buick of this era, your first call really should be Dave Tacheny.
