search participating junkyards.  You can enter the

type of part you want;  or else, I figure if they have

the car at all, you can call to ask specifically about the

cup holder.

 

Your car is new enough that there should be some

in junkyards.  All the best to you in your search!

Ha!  Me too!  After working my way all the way to the back of the yard today, I remembered that I needed one.  I was frantically trying to remember were all of the Caddies, Olds, and Buicks were that had that goofy armrest. 

 

I found none.

I guess I will be looking for one soon too. I noticed recently that mine is starting to show a small crack in the hinged area that looks like it is going to break if I don't glue it or make some other sort of repair. I guess that is a weak link in our 1989 Buick Park Avenues.

Does anyone know a source where you could

have new ones molded in a stronger material?

Perhaps ABS plastic?

 

It sounds like the plastic deteriorates with age,

not by overstressing.  Therefore,

used ones might just be problems waiting to happen.

I doubt there is enough of a demand for them to justify molding new ones. I suspect that it would be possible to find one in better condition or repairing an existing one to handle most of the demand. I have seen a few similar vehicles still on the road locally so there are still some out there to potentialy end up in a wrecking yard and supply one, but only time will tell.
