Guest
Greetings This article was in Hot Rod mag 1956. When the main stick for drag racing was Cadd\Lasalle. With the Cadds running in short supply, this guy turned to the big Buick standard trans. Get out the magnifying class and enjoy a trip to another era, where these parts could still be found in a local yard near you! Maybe this would be good in modified as well? I didn't try adjusting brightness or contrast. Any suggestions as to how to better scan old mag articles such as this. jscheib
Lamar, I am glad you changed this, as my eyes are not as good as John D's are. About Ray Brock, as he was about 10 years older than I, I considered him my mentor, by remote, by his regular articles in Hot Rod. I encourage others to read his obit (2002) by a simple google search (but they have a few others with the same name. Ray was a trained electrical engineer, but soon drifted to the mechanical side and eventually into the SouthCal drag racing scene, and then into all forms of racing, and developing his writing skills. RivNut
I can read the article easily by holding down on the control key and moving the roller on the mouse. This will enlarge whatever is on the screen. Big enough to read, but still a little fuzzy. Just be sure to return the picture to its original size when you're finished. Ed
