ricosan
Thanks Joe, That's great information! I've been chastised before for using only water instead of antifreeze. I live in Florida and at the time my car sucked about a gallon of radiator fluid every 35 miles. I kept four gallon jugs of water in the trunk. There was no way I could afford to keep antifreeze in it. I've since had the radiator rebuilt. I didn't realize how many holes were in it until we had it out of the car. I'm sorry, I'm droning on. ricosan
36 D2 Coupe
Well THAT is a bit of an eye-opener! I had no idea that we could put the cooling systems of our old cars at risk by unwittingly using the wrong antifreeze formulation. Thanks for the warning. 46 woodie
There is an article in the latest "Street Rodder" (sorry guys), about an aluminum radiator that was completely destroyed by electrolysis and gives several hints on how to prevent it. One of the hints is to use the correct anti freeze for your car. I guess we all have some research to do and pass along the info.
