Guest 400mag
I have a 1956 Olds 88 2 door sedan. I am wanting to have the interior redone. I am painting the outside factory colors but not the colors that that specific car came with. I am painting it Ice Green (paint code: DAL-41929-DQE) and Alcan White (paint code: DAL-8123-DQE); with a combination code of: 30-60. I am not sure which green color interior it would have come with, with that exterior combination. Would it have had white vinyl with the green cloth insert or green vinyl with the green cloth insert? and what color/code green interior it would have been. It is just a straight 88, not a super 88 car. I would appreciate any help, I can not find information about what color green interior it would have come with. I would like to get it done as soon as can.Thanks. Edited July 16, 2015 by 400mag (see edit history)
Oldsfan
Green interior trim for 88 2- and 4-door sedans was trim #362. It was Medium Green Morroceen (vinyl) bolster and Green and White pattern cloth. It was available with green, white, cream or lime paint. Also available with green paint was trim #364 - Medium Beige Morroceen bolster and Beige and White pattern cloth. There was also a Custom interior option. It used the same cloth material as the Super 88, as well as other Super 88 appointments such as foam rubber front seat cushion, carpeting, perforated headliner and chrome roof rail moldings, but used Morroceen in place of the Super 88's leather. Apparently it was only available in the 88 Holiday coupes and sedans, not the post models. Paul
Guest 400mag
Thanks for the help. So there was no code for white vinyl with the green cloth insert? I thought I had seen that before
rocketraider
Am I the only one who noticed that Oldsmobile's low-line cars had as nice or nicer interiors than some makes' top trim levels? I believe the appropriate ad slogan is "There's something extra about owning an Oldsmobile!"
Oldsfan
Olds offered white vinyl and green cloth in the 88 Holiday models, but not in the sedans. Paul
Larry W
I can't offer any help on the interior, but I, like many others, are still wondering if you ever determined the cause of the squeak in your newly rebuilt engine. Larry W
56SPR88
Aloha ALL!!!! I’m so stoked that I found this forum! I recently picked up a 1956 Oldsmobile Super 88 4 Door (on Craigslist!). It’s been sitting in a small airport hanger here in Hawaii for the last 14 years! A new battery, some starting fluid and it fired right up! (Had to bypass the fuel tank as the sending Unit was 100% blocked, as soon as we went straight to a gas can, it started!) Picked this up as a project car for my son and I to work on. He’s a junior now and we’re hoping it’ll be at least drivable for his senior year! Any info on decoding the cowl tag would be greatly appreciated! ????? 1CE41A91-7049-49D0-AEED-7919180E78FB.mov 7A23B83D-623D-4B76-A4F8-D77F9591DD26.MOV Edited December 13, 2017 by 56SPR88 Add pic, fix mispelled words (see edit history)

Bob's 56
Thank you! I have a 1956 88 holiday four door hard top with trim number 348 (paint code was s41-40). I was hoping for information/photographs regarding the interior color and fabric, and seat pattern. I would like to get this as close to as original as I can. thank you for any assistance you can provide! Richard
auburnseeker
I'll see what I can turn up. It will probably be a day or so.
Oldsfan
Trim # 348 was for Ivory Morroceen (vinyl) bolster and blue and white pattern cloth. Here's a link, but I don't necessarily recommend the vendor. https://smsautofabrics.com/collections/1956-oldsmobile/model-88-holiday-sedan-4-door-hardtop+trim-
Bob's 56
Oldsfan, thanks for the help. They only have stock photos, not the specific seats. samples take a long time to come. a few upholstery places said they have had problems with them. thanks for the info!
