smithbrother
If after just 20 miles the right side gets very hot, and NOT the left, I would check right side brakes, first. I have had times when detecting where the sound is coming from is misleading, IMO. Dale in Indy
old-tank
Is there any difference in turns (right then left)? Any difference when brakes are applied?

Marty Roth
A defective wheel bearing - Rear Axle Bearing can cause these symptoms. After driving our '54 Caddy about 30 miles a couple of years ago in Canada, the hub got so hot that the brake fluid boiled and we lost braking action until it cooled. Ultimately it turned out to be the left rear axle bearing which was just barely making a sound - detectable only when the car was on a lift and running in gear with the tire spinning.
