critterpainter Posted June 19, 2014 Share Posted June 19, 2014 It might be easier to just get a wide pulley for the alternator. Some model A Ford suppliers carry that pulley that is a direct replacement for the delco alternator. I have one of those pulleys sitting on my desk at work! Guest gmorse Posted June 19, 2014 Share Posted June 19, 2014 Hello everyone,On my '39 series40, I used a wide pulley on the alternator. There are a lot of vendors on eBay that list them. Just as a side light, my '39 shop manual lists the correct belt width as 25/32 in. I have never seen any of this size, so we all use 3/4in. Just rides a little lower in the pulley.
