From my perspective, this wasa home creation of "mostly" Buick components, and a later drive train. I doubt it was ever used as a hearse.

I'm not so sure on not being a hearse. The deck in the back looks to have the sliding platform that allows the casket to be placed and pushed/pulled from the rear. It certainly is odd with the amount of windows and the large rear door. Two angels at the top of the door. Two over the front windshield. There is a separation wall/window between the front seat and rear area. A rail down each side on the interior to keep whatever was place there from banging the walls and possibly used to help secure the cargo/casket.

In the " I just love the picture of this Buick" thread, in post 1353 is a few pics of 1955 Buick Ambulances with windows in the roof that look similar to this hearse. Maybe the conversions were done by the same company.
