need gas tank!

Hi all,

let's try this again....

I need a gas tank for my 1931 DH6 rumble seat coupe.

it's all original with one owner and I just want to get it back on the road.

but, with proper parts...the original tank must have rusted out and so using their genius, they mounted a tank in the rumble seat area.

since i am getting it running after 30 years in storage...I would like to get the proper tank in it.

as far as I know there are no tanks being made for this model and no, the ebay tanks won't work.

any tanks out there?

1931 Plymouth PA4, DeSoto SA6 and Chrysler CM6 tank should also work. Looks like this.....

Length= 38 1/4"

Width of oval ends= 8 1/4"

Length of oval ends= 15 1/4"

If you can find an original tank with all the fittings you might try to have one made at a good tinners shop. I had the tank for my "36 done this way out of galvanized steel with rolled and soldered seams so there is no rust from welding. The tinner was able to install a baffle and all the other mounts for the sender , drain and fuel outlet. It fit perfectly and for about $350.00.

Here's the one off my 34 DR 15" oval, 8" high, 37 long , no sending unit , no feed fitting, and neck has been cut off, all easily fixed if you are interested . small dent also.

Have you tried Bostonhemi? He's got a drivetrain for sale in a recent post and he may have a gas tank as well.
