Coley
You probably mean wood spoke wheels as car wheels didn't use wood felloes. They would never hold up. The felloe is the wooden ring around which a metal tire was shrunk on, as on a buggy wheel or wagon wheel.
Guest
Coley ~ Guess again. Take a look at the wheels on a 1913 or 1914 Buick sometime. ALL WOOD, spokes and felloe. 1913 Cadillac too!
I imagine almost all EARLY car wheels had wooden felloes and believe me they were strong as IRON!!
hvs
jbbuick22
Coley,most wood wheels to about 1917 or 1919
all used a wood felloe with a flanged steel
band, HVS is right. 1919 Buick used wood felloe wheels and Jaxon #19 rims. These wheel
are made by Weston-Mott and have Detroit wedges still on them, Chevy used Detroit rims. jbbuick22
