Michael L.
Good Morning Everyone:I am going to install the rope style rear crank seal in my V-12 rebuild project and I have a question:I understand that the crank will need to be machined to remove one of the ribs for the old style slinger but what do I need to do to the pot metal upper and lower slinger housings in order to hold the rope seal in place where it belongs? Thanks,Mike L. peecher
Believe Earle Brown sells a kit for doing this. The "slinger" on the crankshaft does need to be machined off. I am not a fan of this myself and have heard mixed results.
Mssr. Bwatoe
I have driven mine hard without issue...the slinger is ground off, the slinger insert is replaced with v-8 rope seal..end of story..

Ken/Alabama
You need 19B -6336 lower retainer and 91A-6335 upper retainer . These are Flathead Ford retainers and are available through the vendors .
