Vintage Delivery Trucks On Main Street U.S.A.: A Pictorial

In this post, as well as in others, I have mentioned the baking company my Father worked for.

The following photos were given to me by my Father.

The photos were taken late 1940' very early 1950's.

They depict a bread truck accident during the time he was a route superviser.

My father told me it was remarkable that the route driver walked away from the accident.

The baking company was Genest and their main bread line at the time was Twin Pack Bread.

Note the boxes of bread along the side of the road.

Any one know the year and make of the truck?

Looks like a 40 Chevy. The 39 is the same but bulb headlights with the parking light inside. The truck in the picture has a fender mounted parking light.
