Cruise Control Application

That part number sequence looks more like the GM Accessory Cruise Control Kit. Most of those kits, regardless of carline, were "99____" part numbers. It would be a complete kit to put factory-style cruise where it didn't come from the factory with it. Plus complete instructions. That part number sequence looks more like later 1970s to early 1980s.

The GM Accessory kits were "kits", yet the individual parts would usually be the same as factory production items. Sometimes, these accessory part numbers were not in the regular GM parts listings, but in particular sections of the parts catalog. It used to be that new part numbers for the new model year were in yellow pages at the front of the new edition of the parts book. In some cases, there was a particular Accessories section in the book. OTHER times, you had to have a copy of the GM ACCESSORIES parts book/pamphlet for the particular model year.

Many times, the turn signal stalk and a few other things can indicate the general carline and model year range of the kit. If it has "Resume", then it would be about model year 1981 and later. Such "Resume" cruise transducers usually have a "vacuum chopper" solenoid attached to the bottom of the basic transducer. Plus a 4-terminal brake light switch, rather than a "vacuum" switch.

If the transducer has a third terminal, for a "Cruise 'ON'" light, it could well be an Oldsmobile kit.

There were also transducers specific to diesel engine vehicles.

Just some thoughts,

If you can post some pictures, I might be able to tell you more as I worked in the cruise control area making transducers in the 70's at AC Sparkplug. Depending on the year, Oldsmobile used Perfect Circle cruise, not AC. The black switch at the top of the transducer had 4 terminal if it was a Buick and three if it was Chev or Pontiac. Diesel cruise control transducers had a blue color to the body. The biggest difference between the transducers was the orfice tube which the vacuum hose attached to at the top of the unit.
