Guest De Soto Frank
GM, late 1960's ?
Jim Rohn
not sure, that number is not GM like ...I am guessing early 50's something, just not sure, it appears to hang under the dash
Guest De Soto Frank
The silk-screening on the control glass is what looks like 1960's GM to me...Never saw knobs like that though... maybe AMC ?
Larry Schramm
The wire connectors look like Packard Electric from the 60's

Guest De Soto Frank
The hex-head sheet-metal screws, cable clamps, pins for the looped ends of the Bowden-wire control cables to slip over, and the plastic connectors all point to 1960's GM....I'm going to suggest Buick - Olds - Pontiac. Jim Rohn
the only thing that turns me away from 60's GM is the part number and the fact that this is obviously a hang on type of control, most GM cars were built into the dash by then ... Guest De Soto Frank
Well, whether or not it originally was made FOR a GM vehicle, it certainly was made BY the same jobber that supplied them for GM vehicles.Would agree that it looks like it mounts under the dash, so perhaps for a truck / Suburban Carryall, or low-end car like a Chevy II that may have had heater /defroster only as an option ? Jim Rohn
checked Rambler and early GM, not Corvair, or the early a body GM cars, they were all bulit into the dash, same for the GM trucks, check Studebaker, no go there, will look at Jeep or International next ... Guest De Soto Frank
This looks very similar to the Heater - Defroster control that was in my '72 Chevy C-10 pick-up, but the knobs were different. But the casting, lens, lever arrangement and the placement of the hole for the light socket are all very similar. Jim Rohn
the 67-72 Chevy pickups are in the dash, as shown in the picture below this one hangs below the dash ...

Guest De Soto Frank
Jim,I really don't think it's MoPar... I'm still leaning on GM, because of the style of the lettering on the panel, plus style of the connectors and general construction...But, I'll go out on a limb here, how about '65-'66 Studebaker, since they were using Chevy engines during their last gasp ? keiser31
99% of the MoPar parts have SOME sort of logo...either the DPCD or the pentastar. I don't believe it is MoPar.
drwatson
1957 Cadillac. Eldorado is pictured. Our control is to left of steering wheel. I think it's same for other Cad models.
Jim Rohn
that would make sense, there was a lot of Cadillac stuff, 57 & 58 in this EstateI KNEW it looked familiar ...
