Clipper47
A friend who owns a 1929 Buick Model 47 is missing a front wheel hubcap and sleeve and also a crankhole cover. If anyone knows anyone or has one or all of these parts for sale please contact me at kenne@shaw.ca Thanks!
michaelod
Can you post a picture of the hubcap you are looking for? Also is this for wood or wire wheels? Thanks,
Thriller
Crank hole covers are hard to come by...I've been quietly looking for one for a few years. There's a fellow in Australia who is considering making reproductions out of stainless steel. There are multiple hub cap styles and, just so you know, the 20 series (or 116 Series) cars have a smaller diameter hub, so take a smaller cap. That was expensive knowledge to acquire.
Mark Shaw
I am looking for a crank hole cover too for my son's 29-27 116 series. I thought of just making one on my little lathe from aluminum bar stock, but I do not have a knurling tool.
Rooster
Buy a knurling tool Mark and you have it for good. You can get a cheap one off evilbay but it will proably be made in China , OK for aluminium though. I made a cover for my 1929 because those things are as rare as rocking horse **** here. Easy to turn up.
