Guest Bob Call
Pretty neat stuff. I have been in the "all bidness" (oil business) for too many years to count. In Volume 4, No. 3, is a feature on nitroglycerine "shooting" of an oil well.Lots of people know the name of Zebco as a fishing tackle manufacturer. But, its origins are in the oil patch. Back in the day before hydralic fracturing of wells they were "shot" with nitroglyricine. The nitro was placed in the well bore at the potentially productive interval and exploded by a "time bomb". Someone had to make the time bomb. Who else but the Zero Hour Bomb Company, Tulsa, Oklahoma, back when Tulsa was the Oil Capital of the World. When hydralic fracing replaced shooting, Zero Hour moved on to fishing reels and changed its name to Zebco.
Dave Mellor NJ
Neat story about Zebco, who would have known? Neat videos, also. It's a shame it's impractical to show them at a club meeting.
Guest Bob Call
DaveI don't know the names but there are software programs that can copy these Chevy news reels from You Tube and put them on a DVD. Any DVD player can then be connected to a monitor or projector to show them at meetings.
