PanEd
1941 Buick Special: I WANT THE MOTOR/TRANS SO PRICE IS FOR REST OF CAR NOT DRIVETRAIN.I bought this car for the motor, previous owner stated he had $9500.00 in car and rebuilding motor/trans, new brakes, new exhaust, driveline. Rare dual carb motor only offered 2 years. Clear title, 74,000 mile car. Body is extremely solid, only bad spot I seen was on the drives door. See attached picture. Doors snap shut. Front fenders/wheel wells are in good shape, no major just issue, Grill in good shape has some pitting but very solid. Previous owner mounted radiator so he could drive it around his yard. Car has interior and wiring out. So nice of a body and car I hate to seperate it out. 5 nice tires/wheels. . I will sell car in parts if it does not sell as a whole. Make offer on chassis/body. I only want the drivetrain for my 30 coupe. Ed 614-989-1782.
Guest Earl
Could I ask what the paint code is for the car? Thanks now, Earl.

Thriller
The hood makes it look to be the same paint code as mine - 551 - Monterey Blue and Silver. What part of the world is the car located in? I shouldn't even ask....If you do wind up parting it out, I may be interested in a few odds and ends.

PanEd
Hey next time I'm at the shop i will check the tag for color. I'm in Ohio. I bought car for the motor/trans to put in the 64c. That's the plan for now unless I find a good 30 motor. I'm a Buick diehard not mods will be done to the 64c. Just a temp motor for a few Years until i can find a good master engine. I'm. Giving it a few weeks then I'm going to part out. Anyone need anything call or email me. Aretrogeek@yahoo.com
jbbuick22
I using a 28-29 engine would be easier than a straight 8. The 8cyl engine is muck longer. GMC trucks used the Buick 6 engine into the 30's JB22-6-55 Sport Touring
Thriller
Have you checked out the 1930 Buick Yahoo group? Someone there may be able to supply you with a motor.

That's the plan for now unless I find a good 30 motor. As the 1941 will be a steering column gear change (not floor like the 1930 64c) it will be a challenge to fit. May be better looking for an older motor & transmission. Edited October 31, 2009 by 1939_buick spelling (see edit history)
