oldford
I need the width of the top bow wood on a 1921 Essex roadster. Were all the bows the same width? Thanks.Frank
Layden B
Most cars have all the bows of the same width so they will stack together when the top is folded. Most cars also have the bows of such a length that the metal sockets ( wood goes into and attach to side of body) are on a vertical plane when the top is up. Some do slant slightly outward at the top to give more room inside ( a mockup would show what was right, when the top folds it has to go into the rest supports).Hope this helps. Jon37
If you don't get the answers you need at the AACA Hudson forum, you might try over at the Hudson club's forum, at http://www.classiccar.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=13. You might even find someone with an Essex who lives a reasonable distance away from you, so you could go over and measure the bows.
