Jolly_John
Hi. Think of the regular painted steel wheels that are stock for a '63 Riviera with hubcaps, and other bigger Buicks. I'm referring to the steel wheels with the big center hole. I realize there are different widths of this wheel. But, can someone give me an idea of the years of Buicks and models these wheels with the large center hole fit? I hope my question makes sense! Thanks for the help. TexRiv_63
John,63 and 64 wheels should be the same, two different widths 5 1/2" and 6". Riviera wheels also have four holes in them for mounting the optional aluminum wheel covers, not sure if other Buicks used the same wheel. I think they went to a smaller hub and center hole in 65. RivNut
Don is correct about the sizes etc. but I want to add a "maybe." Buick used four spring clips to hold the dog-dish hub caps on the less expensive models. The clips were rivited on. I'd almost bet that the four holes for the rivets on the spring clips are the same four holes that the riviera wheels had on them for the cast aluminum covers. I wouldn't think that Buick would go to the expense of designing different wheels depending on what kind of cover they were to recieve. Some one surely knows how far back the larger center hole goes prior to '63.
