ccwine59
Can anyone tell me who could determine the value of a 1978 Skylark with less than 12,000 ACTUAL miles. The old story of a little old lady driving it to church on Sunday is true with this one. Everything on it is original except the tires and battery. Spare tire has never been out of the back! Upholstery and headliner need to be replaced and it's covered in at least an inch of dust but she does run. We started her up this week. Owner is now in a nursing home and we want to make sure she gets what the car is worth.
MCHinson
Welcome to the AACA Discussion Forum. If you wanted to see the car go to someone who will "adopt" the car and love it, post it on the Buy/Sell forum here on this site.If you just want to make sure it sells for absolutlely top dollar, Clean it up, take a lot of good photos, write a detailed truthful description, and put it on Ebay. Start it at a low price with no reserve and the market will tell you exactly what it is worth. It is worth whatever a willing buyer will pay. Ebay, while not always our favorite place, will get you the world wide exposure that will get you top dollar.Good luck!
ccwine59
Thank you for the quick response and advice, we had not thought of ebay. Trying to sell a car of this age is new territory for us. Having someone adopt her sounds better.

The car came with air conditioning. Windows are manual as are the door locks. The original spare is in the trunk along with the jack which has never been on the gound. interior, which does need re-upholstered is a blue and white plaid. We are still learning things about the car so if there is any thing specific anyobe would like to know about the car we will try to find out for you. jscheib
I would imagine that the car is automatic transmission. Could you verify? One factor with cars of this nature, that is not a low production or unique model, is the location (becuase of the expense to get to see the car and transport it to the buyers location). Could you provide some indication of location of the car? Thanks,John

ccwine59
yes the car is an automatic. We are located in upper east Tennessee, about 85 miles east of Knoxville, between Johnson City and Kingsport.
