drwatson
"Royal Swedish Auto Club". They formed in 1903.Badge design changed through the years. My guess isyour badge might be mid to late 50"s?
Leif Holmberg
drwatson,Why should they just call the club SAC way not RSAC,the Royal Swedish Automobile Club. ,I have been looking at this too,and the club is called KAK in Sweden.Kungliga Automobil Klubben.????? drwatson
The Crown makes me think "Royal". It looks like a number of different names or initials refer to the same club: SAC, RSAC, KAK..,all seem to mean "Royal Swedish Auto Club". Did you happen to see the 1903 Badge on eBay?http://cgi.ebay.com/c.1903-Royal-Swedish...alenotsupported
Guest Casper Friedrich
The badge on ebay can't be as early as 1903, because it was designed in 1909 by the famous architect Ferdinand Boberg. http://runeberg.org/hvar8dag/10/0513.htmlThe earlier name was Svenska automobilklubben, but in 1908 it get permission to put "royal" in the name. Leif Holmberg
Casper, this is the answer I got from Genaralsekretery of KAK here in Sweden. Med vänliga hälsningarMikael GripenstedtWhat he say is that the KAK club name betwwen 1903-1908 was Swedish Automobil Club in Swedish named Svenska Automobil Klubben shorted as SAK and the Generasekeretary say that this is not a badge precursor badge from KAK in Sweden. The older badges looked more like the "new" ones.
