Definitely a Chrysler Product given that DPCP logo. And definitely from 1932-34 given the number size.

It is my impression that Chrysler engineers got a block of part numbers assigned when working on an area. So an "assembly" might be built up of parts nnnn1, nnnn2 and nnnn3. Only the final assembled part would be made available for aftermarket parts sale. The number you show is on a casting and there are several other pieces that go onto that casting to make up the radiator cap assembly.

613722, one digit off from the number shown, is the radiator cap "assembly" for the 1933 Plymouth PCXX (Standard 6). And the cap looks like the one for the 1933 Plymouth Standard 6.

Hi Ply33,

I have been trying to work out Chry part nos for years.

Did they sort them by item? Or by make/model. What about year built?

Ford numbers are easy to figure once u understand the system.

As near as I can tell, it is a simple sequence number system. The first part they designed was some low number (not sure if they started with 1 or not as the lowest numbers I recall in the 1928-33 master parts book are in the 40000 range). The next part was the next number up and so on.

Generally you can get a feel for the year the part was first used by how big the number is. The low 600000 range is typical for parts first used in 1933 on Plymouth. 620000 for parts on the 1934 Plymouth.

The Mopar cap is from a 1931-32 Plymouth PA. It is the cap that was used in place of the "Flying Lady" when you were away from your car. The number matches mine.
