Whats this odd '89 LeSabre?

On the local Craigslist is this '89 LeSabre 2dr, but it has a very odd roofline. I have never seen another like this. Was this a custom built model? Seems like the car is originally from South Dakota (which would explain the rust it looks like it has on the right rear wheel well, but supposed to run super.

Looks like one of the aftermarket roof treatments that where widely used and popular on Buicks anad other Luxury makes in that period. Some where quite attractive and others not so much.

Often the clue is how they handled the inside of the window.

A local shop might do nothing or make a upholstered patch to cover the window. There is nothing in Buick literature that suggest they every made a production car with that roof treatment.
