TG57Roadmaster
Hi Wayne,Yes, first, I scanned in some images from old Better Homes & Gardens mags, printed them out on matte brochure paper, and placed the models right in front of the pix. I'm still working on the scale issue; that dog is bigger than the jukebox!TG
TG57Roadmaster
Here are a few more from today with a new, simple base made of charcoal gray matte board, painted balsa curbing, and fine-grain hobby shop sand for that "gritty, urban look."Conquest 1954 Olds 98 StarfireBuby/CC 1956 DeSoto Fireflite SportsmanMini-Marque 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 SunlinerHere's all you need. The reflector is foamcore with spray-mounted Reynolds Wrap, on a stand (light weight & adjustable) made of coat hangers. I shoot these on a tripod with a 55-200MM zoom lens to compress everything. MCHinson
TG, I'm impressed. Some day I have to meet you, but I am thinking that you have a lot more free time on your hands than I do....
TG57Roadmaster
Matt,We'll try to hook up the next time I'm in Whiteville...we need to scout out some more cool gas stations! You may be right about my time, like what I did today...This is the finest home in my town, built in the late-'20's by a leading textile family in the Cotswold style. Naturally, the Garage fascinates me most, so I ran over there today to get an establishing shot. It was an overcast, gray day, with lots of diffused light, perfect for what I needed. Guest Charlie Larkin
What a great idea! Very nicely done, too. Another good source of house pictures are the plan books that show up on eBay from time to time, and usually aren't too pricey to purchase.Charlie Larkin

TG57Roadmaster
John,Thanks for the inspiration; that '57 Roadmaster image at the GM Tech Center is one of my favorites (even though it has Super headlight bezels). And that kitchen is straight out of the Jetsonian School of Design! You might remember some of these evolutionary FoMoCo products...1951 Ford Crestliner, USA Models #171952 Lincoln Capri, Precision Models #Special Build1955 Mercury Montclair, Design Studio #10CDitto1955 Mercury Montclair, Design Studio #10H1956 Continental Mark II, Brooklin #111953 Ford F-100 Pickup with Wurlitzer Jukebox, Durham ModelAll good deeds should be rewarded!TG
