Guest Al Brass
Hi everyone,I'm overhauling a '29 Century Six and wondering if anybody knows the correct engine color. I understand it is a dark olive green but would appreciate confirmation or a description please.Kind regardsAlNew Zealand

huptoy
I can get you a quart of green color used for the 6 Cyl Hupmobile. The two photos were taken at the same time, one is shaded and the other in the light.
Guest Al Brass
Hi Huptoy,Thank you very much. I would take you up on your kind offer but I think the postage on paint to New Zealand would be prohibitive. I can get some mixed and get it very close to yours I think. Thank's so much for your help again, perfect!Kind regardsAl

Roger M
Huptoy, I'm in the process of restoring my 29 Hupp Model A, and really love your engine color. I just can't find the right color match. Can you give me info on what you used?

I just can't find the right color match. Can you give me info on what you used? Looks very similar to the colour that Studebaker used. Might be worth looking at some Stude engine pics. One source said the Stude colour was supposed to look like (clean I presume) engine oil.
bryankazmer
Is Packard green close? - It's also a medium sage green
Roger M
Thanks NZCARNERD. I looked at Studebaker's colors, but it has a little too much blue tint for my liking. I'm looking for an light olive drab.
Roger M
Thanks bryankazmer, I checked it out. We may have a winner!
huptoy
If you are a member of the Hupmobile Club? They have the color codes for the engine color. Membership is $31 a year. There is a company in Dayton Ohio who can mix the color, in quart qty, & ship. How soon do you need it? I can deliver paint cans to Hershey for pickup. Roger M
Thanks Huptoy. I am a member, and have been one off and on for years. I was looking at the Packard Green which BRYANKASMER suggested, which seems very close, but it's really hard to tell with pictures online. I was hoping to paint the engine sometime this month, but I can wait if I have to. I live in Northeastern Pennsylvania (Sranton) a few hours away from Hershey.
