Jolly_John
Hi. I'm wondering if anyone on the forum has had a steering wheel restored by Richard Gumm in Ohio. Would like some comments on quality. You can either post here or send me a message. Also, I understand he does the colored plastic rings for around the horn button on 1937-1940 Buicks. Would also like to get a quality comment if someone has purchased one of these plastic trim rings from Mr. Gumm. Thanks for any help. John
michel88
I had my 1940 Buick Roadmaster steering wheel restored by Richard Gumm and I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of the job. I would recommend him with no hesitation, and the price was much more reasonable than anybody else.
Matt Harwood
Does he do other plastic parts for these cars, too? I need them all, and want to get them all made at the same place so the color is consistent. Can you post his contact info? Thanks!
Jolly_John
Hi, Matt. He only does steering wheels and the horn bezel plastic, as I understand it. John
Chacheska
I answered this question in the AACA forum before seeing there were more responses in this Buick forum. You can check my reply there regarding longevity issues and cracking over time. Matt, if you're looking for plastic knobs and other pieces to be uniform in color then Skip Boyer is the guy to buy from. He's been reproducing those knobs for at least 20 years that I know of.
