  1. Hi all. I posted in late March, mentioning I was going to Dallas, then to Phoenix with an 18. open trailer. Change of plans. I am now taking my enclosed trailer to Phoenix from Buffalo, leaving the first week of May. I didn't get any responses to the open trailer post, so maybe someone needs a vehicle transported enclosed. If so, please let me know. The route will be from Buffalo to Erie, Columbus, Indianapolis, St Louis, OKC, Albuquerque, Phoenix. I'm bringing back a car from Phoenix, so the availability to transport will only from east to west. I can be somewhat flexible on the routing if it
  2. I just wanted to add an addendum to my post, since I got a reply looking to transport a vehicle from Texas to Ohio. The car hauler is only open from Buffalo TO Dallas and Phoenix, not from Phoenix to Buffalo. I'm going to Phoenix to pick up a car. Just wanted to clarify that. Thanks again for taking the time to read my post.
  3. I'm posting this well ahead of time so that there's plenty of time to make arrangements. I'm leaving for Dallas and then Phoenix with an empty 18', 10,400 GVW car hauler at the end of April. I can deliver your car anywhere along the way to either city. I can also deliver items in my pickup truck. So, if you need a vehicle delivered anywhere or items you need sent to any city between Buffalo, NY and Phoenix, AZ, just let me know and we can discuss price. My e-mail address is chacheska@roadrunner.com Many thanks for reading.
  4. Good morning and thank you for the responses, especially to you, Michael. I sent you a PM, Michael. Please respond at your earliest convenience. John ........... I didn't mention the make or model because the two things I'm concerned about are the quality of the paint and the way it runs, both of which should be readily apparent to anyone who is a car guy. Other than those two things, I have enough info to make an informed decision. The car was repainted. While it looks O.K. in the pics, it doesn't have the high gloss luster of a quality paint job. Also, when I blow up the pics, it
  5. Hi one and all. Is there anyone in the Osakis, Minnesota area or nearby cities of Alexandria or St Cloud that can look over a car I'm considering buying in Osakis? It's a 1,100 mile one way drive for me and I'm not able to make the trip at this time. Osakis is about 56 miles northwest of St Cloud and roughly 90 miles northwest of Minneapolis. If you know of anyone in that area, please let me know and I'll get in touch with them ASAP. The weather up there is perfect right now in the 60's so it wouldn't involve uncomfortable temps. Thanks in advance for your help, referrals and/or su
  6. Also wanted to thank the person who recommended Bill's Auto Transport. There's a company in Buffalo by that name, but I found the post that mentioned Bill's as being located in Ohio. I'll call them tomorrow. Much appreciated.
  7. My apologies for not checking back sooner. Hola, Minnie Mouse. Didn't see you at Hershey last year. I don't believe I can get it to Milwaukee. The owner isn't willing to do that for me, but thanks for the thoughtful reply and suggestion. If, by some flukey chance that could happen, how do I get a hold of your friend, John?
  8. Does anyone know of a hobbyist in the Minneapolis area that would transport a small car to western NY for me? Many thanks.
  9. You can find pretty much anything on the net by Googling it. Here's the link I use: http://pure-gas.org/
  10. I was a member of the original club and joined back in 1982 when Dave Lewis started the club. I signed up for the new club and paid my dues at the Buick Nationals in Flint, when the club was just starting to sign members. I waited and waited for the club to get off the ground and sent Gene Phillips two e-mails over the course of several months, both went unanswered. Frustrated, I wrote a final e-mail commenting on the poor way the club was being run and expressing my regret for joining it. Weeks later, I got a letter and my dues back. The letter ended by saying the club was better off without

I'm heading out later this month (Oct) and will be coming back along the same route in November. Contact me at chacheska@verizon.net or call me at (716) 297-5625. Thanks! Karl
  12. Regarding the open trailer to Boston ........ please contact me at chacheska@verizon.net. Thanks again.
  13. Hi. I'm making a trip to Rhode Island July 8th and have an 18' open trailer that I'll be pulling to pick up a car out there. If anyone needs a car delivered anywhere near the Rhode Island to Boston area I'd be happy to work something out with them at a good rate. Thanks!
  14. I have my dad's '73 Cad for sale. It can either be a parts car or restoration project. It's Firemist Green with a white roof and interior. It has 54,000 miles on it. It's rusty in all the normal places for that vintage Cad ...... around the wheel wells, inside the trunk and the gas tank leaks. I have an extra gas tank. It last ran about 15 years ago but I've cranked the engine over occasionally. The paint is weak. I don't want to scrap it because it was my dad's car and also because I'm a hobbyist and that doesn't sit well with me. I'm making a trip to Rhode Island from western NY and would li

  16. I have my dad's Coupe. It's Firemist green with a white top and interior. It has 54,000 miles. It hasn't been run in 18 years and needs restoration. The front seat was redone in vinyl. The trunk floor is rotted as is the area right around the wheel wells in front. Typical early 70's Cad rust problems. My dad died in 1977 and the car was used for a few years after that but was put away and stored inside for the last 18 years. I'd really like to see someone restore the car rather than scrap it so if anyone is interested they can post a reply here or at chacheska@verizon.net. I honestly don't kno
  17. All the Buckeye jacks I've ever seen have been black. If it were mine I would definitely do black.
  18. If anyone is in the Springfield, Va or DC area or is passing through that area going to the national meet would you please contact me at chacheska@verizon.net? I have an item in the Springfield/DC area that needs to be picked up and brought to the meet. If anyone would be kind enough to help me I'd sincerely appreciate it. Thanks!
  19. By the way, if no one responds to the ad to buy the car but needs parts off it please let me know before I take it to the crusher. I'll be glad to salvage whatever you need within reason. Thanks again for viewing.
  20. If anyone from the Springfield, Va or DC area or anyone south of there going through that area is going to the Cadillac national meet in Cherry Hill, N.J. in 3 weeks please contact me at chacheska@verizon.net. I have something in Springfield, Va (DC area) that needs to be picked up and brought to the meet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much!
  21. I'm posting this on this forum because it gets more viewers than any other forum. I'll also post on the Cad site. If anyone is going to the Cherry Hill national meet in 3 weeks from the Springfield, Va or DC area or is going through that area from points south or knows of a fellow Cadillac member that is, please have them contact me at chacheska@verizon.net. There is an item in the city of Springfield that I need brought to the meet if someone would be kind enough to pick it up for me. Thanks very much to all.
  22. It's a burgundy on burgundy with a V6 and 96,000 miles. The left front brake line is shot, the gas line is leaking around the middle of the passenger door area and the left rear frame is gone from the tire back. In other words it's a parts car. I hate to scrap anything but that's where it's going if no one wants it. Scrap here is $235 a ton right now so at 3,100 lbs I can get about $350 for it. After cutting out the cat converter, taking out the radiator, battery, starter and alternator I can probably get another $100 out of it but, again, I hate to scrap something that has many good parts. Th
  23. If your car is 99% complete don't put a Nova tank on it. Call Dave Tacheny in Minnesota at (763) 427-3460. Dave has provided many, many people with 1937 and 1938 Buick cars and parts over the years. He owns dozens of them and has more parts than anyone. His prices may not be the cheapest but he's definitely not the most expensive, either. He'll have your gas tank.
  24. Having a couple of 1932 Buicks I can tell you the bumpers are definitely chrome. Since the '32 didn't have split rims I can't say for sure but I would assume the part of the rim you're talking about would also be chrome since it's use was pretty prevalent on Buicks by 1931. Can't help you with tires.
  25. Geez, I'm really impressed at the prices of storage buildings in the Chicago area. I bought a 3,769 sq ft warehouse here in western N.Y. 4 years ago for $16,000!! I currently have 17 vehicles in there and could conceivably fit 4 more in there if I wanted to sardine them in. Costs $100 a month in taxes. Not bad when you divide that by 17.
