JFranklin Posted November 9, 2007 Share Posted November 9, 2007 1948 Plymouth - Does anyone know how the fuel line to gas tank is supposed to fit as the pipe in the fitting at the tank seems loose and is a flared end and the gas line is also a flared end. is there a gasket that goes between the two flares <> ? Jim Yergin Posted November 9, 2007 Share Posted November 9, 2007 There is supposed to be a ferrule in that fitting. I believe the parts book calls it a "fuel tank filter nipple sleeve." There is a very small double ended piece that goes infirst. I never noticed it until I saw it lying on the garage floor. I can send a photo of it. Will need you email to do so. Andy W. Rusty_OToole Posted September 28, 2010 Share Posted September 28, 2010 I fixed one once with a red fibre washer. A neoprene O ring might work.
