  1. Martin is a great source - in addition to the exhaust pipes, he was able to supply the correct muffler and resonator for a 61 Chrysler.
  2. You can get a grill badge if you qualify as a driven car at the National Convention......................
  3. Imperial62 Thanks for the laugh of the day with the obscure reference to Uriah Heep for some of us......................
  4. This would be more in keeping with the style of advertising and the time period associated with the clock pictured above. The old style Buick logo seems to be a 'resto mod' approach to the clock.
  5. Sorry Lamar, I just wanted the owner to clarify the 'clear' title status with having only a sales receipt. Nice car but I'm in the middle of a restoration at the moment so it must have been someone else.
  6. Lamar is exactly correct on the title status and the seller explained the situation in the same terms when we exchanged emails. Arland
  7. Here in the Northwest it isn't too uncommon for a car to develop mildew just from sitting outside with the condensation of the heating and cooling cycles during sunny winter days (Northwest sunny winter days is an oxymoron). This car was parked outside for about two years up until recently. The passenger front door doesn't latch and is being held in place by a bungee cord so it is probably a combination of contributing factors but it really didn't smell all that musty inside.
  8. Went to look at this 56 today. A very solid car that was sitting cold but started easy and ran quiet and smooth. The chrome has very minor pitting but is straight and the stainless is nice. The windshield has some minor delaminating on the bottom of the passengers side but the rest of the glass is good. It looks like some sort of repaint or clear coat at some time and there is some checking and minor wear through at the top of the rear driver's fender. The rocker panels look good as well as the frame and trunk. There is some minor mildew starting on the headliner above the passenger rear door. The dash looks good and the gauges worked. All in all a pretty nice starting point for anyone wanting a 56 hardtop.
  9. Just as a point of reference, about twenty five years ago a lack of judges was becoming a critical issue in another car club. This particular club conducts what is perhaps the most thorough and detail oriented judging in the car hobby. The solution was simple and straight forward - if you wanted to have your car judged, you had to serve as a judge. Obviously you can't judge the same category that your car is entered into and there was some concern about the depth and breadth of judging knowledge. This approach along with a very comprehensive series of judging manuals and highly visible judging recognition program has produced a large and talented generation of judges that can now cover events all over the country. The point is that if you are concerned and committed to the BCA judging process enough to demand that your car gets judged at a national event, be prepared to offer your services in support of your fellow car owners having their cars judged as well. The BOD can make it a requirement but they have to have support from all the members and attendees to make it happen. Just some food for thought......................
  10. Getting clear pictures of Sportwagon rear seatbelt attaching hardware is limited because of the sheetmetal attaching the rear of the seat to the floor of the storage area but here's what I could get from our 67 Sportwagon 400. These three pictures show the factory location of the driver's side rear seat belt attachments to the floor. The one picture of the inside belt attachment is a sideways view that show where the bolt is in relationship to the driveline hump in the floor. Hope these help.
  11. Jim, At the risk of starting a long debate, I have used DuraCool in my Buick and other cars for years as a direct replacement for R12. There is a long list of reasons why I use it that won't get mentioned here, but it will freeze your buns off.

Yes - the new page is 'parked' and doesn't seem to be what the v8 buick site had in mind.
