  1. I would guess not. Here is a 47 parts car that I had. It had overdrive, you can see a lot more levers and stuff on the side of the motor. Guessing 41 and 47 would still be the same setup.

  3. That car would look really good with 1956 New Yorker/300 tail lights. I always thought the tail lights looked like red dixie plastic cups. I do like these cars, sold my 55 years ago.
  4. There are some great cars in 1957. Chrysler, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Ford and Lincoln. I do not know where a 57 Hudson came in price wise compared to the others. I just have a hard time imagining a person standing in front of the Hudson, at a dealership in 1957. And saying I have looked at the others, and the Hudson knocks it out of the park. Sales must have been really bad.
  5. It looks like a nice car. I just have never warmed up to the 55-57 Hudson’s. 55 is the better looking one out of the three.
  6. So many cars from 67-71 were junked for the big block engines. A lot of muscle cars have Imperial, Impala, New Yorker and Thunderbird engines in them. Cadillac engines made their way into earlier Cadillacs. I have seen very nice original cars make their way to the demolition derby. Because at the time, no body wanted them.
  7. The ride quality of these cars is outstanding. Fun to go on road trips in full size cars from this era. Like driving your living room.
  8. What ever happened to the Auburn convertible coupe 35-36? That popped up on this forum. Unrestored, up against a building in Washington State. Owner was selling for an estate? This would have been 2-3 years ago? Anyone pick it up?
  9. Are the floors in these still wood? Or just main insert area’s? Did they ever have full steel floors? Packard was still using wood for the sill/floor structure in 1937. I had a 1931 Auburn, those used a lot of wood in the construction of the body.
  10. Not picking on the car listed in the link. Good for the seller showing the rust. It would be easy to repair once you remove the outer rocker panel. Just structurally it is right where the outer frame rail ties into the cross piece on the front suspension clip. The difficult repairs to do are in the back of the car. I can post pictures of a Hornet club coupe I dove into that was bad. I got lucky and found NOS rear frame pieces from McDonald Motors in Seattle. Before everything was auctioned off.

The rust in this car is in a very bad place, and would not be safe to drive the car IMO. Hudson had a bright idea of stuffing the rockers and frame rails with some funky woven dish pan scrubber looking thing. My guess is, it was to make for a quieter ride. What it did was collect dirt and water.

  13. It is a nice show, and the setting is nice. Second time I have been there. Was going watch the awards, but lunch stretched out a bit. And I missed them. There will be another show.
