Also here is a link to a nice zoomed in picture of the Flint scene.

Thanks Brian for the update.
Just as a reminder to you, I'm the one you helped over the phone back in June on my 1938 Buick steering wheel / horn problem. All is well with it now.
Yes I saw that. I kept meaning to ask how it went.

I have confirmation the BCA Merchandise vendor is in space GBA 38.
OK BCA'ers I know more of you go than have responded. Let's see if I can kick start this by posting some location of BCA'ers and parts suppliers (at least the ones by memory). Keep in mind I am in to Pre-war Buicks so this list is heavily toward that. Also the BCA Tent will have a pretty good list of where stuff Buick vendors are at that will probably fills some gaps.
Green Field
BCA Tent GBK 35-37
BCA Merchandise GBA-38
Bob's Automobilia around GDI 2-5
CARS around GBM13-15
Mac Blair around GGH or GDJ 30-35 ish
Jim Peters around GBC 1
Orange
Frank Buke OBC 33
Bill McLaughlin around OBA 10ish
Red
Bob Coker RWA-18
Lewis Jenkins Red field somewhere I believe fairly close to Chocolate North
Ed Natale - RSD 35 ish
Chocolate South
Skip Boyer - CT, CP, CN 50 (somewhere around there)
Jack Welch - CI or CG in 35-40 space range or so
John Henry - near Jack
Jesse Morton/John Scheib Academy Auto Space 1 maybe like row CM
Doug Seybold - between Boyer and Morton maybe like CO or CQ 15 ish
Chocolate North
I know there is one pre-war guy in about the dead middle of this feidl but no idea his name or spaces.
Maybe I'll keep notes this year or more folks need to respond to the thread!!

If you look in the standard catalog of Buick 3rd edition a 38-44 is a 2 door sedan. My car is a 4 door sedan with dual sidemounts. Does the body no. L1917 mean its a 6 wheeler?
No a 6wheel car will have"6W" stamped on the tag in some but not all factory 6wheel cars

OK it appears the annual Who is going to Hershey thread has been started on the AACA side
http://forums.aaca.org/f228/2012-annual-who-will-hershey-where-335494.html
I thought we should have a Buick / BCA edition.
I'll be there with my dad. We'll have some stuff our Orange field space but I prefer to try and see the entire flea market and shop for parts. Plus have a pretty good memory of where all my Buick friends' spaces are so I do some visiting too.
The Buick Club will have a tent in the Green Field GBK-35-37. Stop in say hi, get a cookie! Also I understand our BCA merchandise vendor will have his hauler there and will be selling BCA, Buick and GM merchandise I do not know where the merchandise vendor's spaces are however.
See you there.

Dick Beckely's car appears to be Chancellor Blue (Gainsborough Blue in 1938). In my opinion Sudan Blue (Botticelli Blue in 1938) looks better on coupes and convertibles than 4dr sedans, like I said that's just my opinion as you could certainly have it on a sedan.
Ottawa Blue I'm going off memory here but wasn't that either same as Chancellor Blue or a McLaughlin (Canada) Buick only color. I believe there is some info in the old Torque Tubes on that. check them at 1937 and 1938 Buicks www.1937and1938Buicks.com
On Paintref.com not sure where they got their names as all 37 Buick colors were British Royal Empire-esqu in name (1938 were all named for artists). Also they not Bruce Blue as metallic - Chancellor Blue is NOT metallic but Sudan Blue is.

Here are photos of a '37 ( I believe Roadmaster) taken at the 2011 BCA National meet in Danvers. I'm not sure where the owner got the dash artwork done but this pattern was a correct option for '37. I'll let other comment on the coloring.

Yeah, the Buick is nice, on second look.:D
What Buick??? I didn't see a Buick...

Cool location on the River. Great Job 68 cars is a good turn out and it'll grow from there!

some one said they were at the reatta meet in south bend,? I will the 2013 calender. thanks.
Bill
Bill,
I'm not sure. I do know that a forum member ("HessLakeGuy" I believe) went to car show and stopped in South Bend on the way home to scout locations for organizing the Reatta Rendezvous which will take place during the 2013 BCA National meet. This Rendezvous is a tour that the Reatta Division holds and the members go take their Reattas out to an interesting place that the BCA is not providing a tour to during the meet (in 2012 it was the Carolinas Aviation Museum) and then the stop at a restaurant for dinner and camaraderie. I have not personally been on it yet, but it's a pretty neat event. As we get closer to the National meet there will be more info on here (probably in the Reatta section of the forum) about it.

Thanks for the help. sorry for being such a pain in the A&& but I would to go a few shows. I missed South Bend IN, any way THANKS
Billystoy
I am glad to help.
I not sure I understand your "missed South Bend" comment. As far as I am aware the only South Bend event the BCA has/had going at either a local, regional, or national level in South Bend is the upcoming National meet next year. For more info check 2013 BCA National Meet. So you haven't missed that by any means. So I hope we will see you there.

OK Bill your BCA number is 46712. Welcome to the BCA. You should receive a letter shortly with your membership info and the BCA decal and membership card. You will receive your first Bugle shortly as well.

I can appreciate your frustration, I'm checking to find out what happened so if there is anything I can do it will be done.

Hello Joseph. Great car. I got your email too and sent you a response.

BTW - Good headline!!!
Thanks.
What, A CHEVY!! Not that I can say much, my first car was a Dodge (the '69 Charger I still have), but I got my Buick's eventually and my dad and I get to tool around with them a bunch too so it'll work out.

OK seller says it is a 1942, as does the registration the seller has for the it . Obviously it not a 1942 based body. Based on the the engine and frame numbers it's a '41 Buick but to me it looks like a '40 cause of the front sheet metal.

Shafer Indy cars used a Buick Straight 8's.
Here is Coker's replica of one 1937 Buick Shafer 8 of Coker Tire Company
I can't proved on any modification details but point being that they were raced so there must be some stuff you can do.
With regards to converting to insert bearings in lieu of babbitting. I did this in my 320 basically you have two options. 1. Find a set of 1949 or later rods which had factory insert bearings. or 2. send them out to be machined to accept inserts. I chose option 2 and used Terrell Machine in TX and actually it was an exchange. The mains are insert bearing from the factory at least on my '38 and later.

How many more just say to hell with it??

Billy,
As a BCA Board of Director, let me apologize on behalf of the Buick Club of America for the frustrations you are having. With the online application it may have worked the first time, but I'll have to check for you. Also I am curious if you left a voicemail or just gave up when you got the answering machine? Regardless I will send you a PM to privately get your full contact info so I can inquire to see if the first time you applied online worked or if not get the office to give you a call ASAP to resolve the issue.
For anyone else reading this there is always the good old snail mail method via the attached application which can be downloaded printed and mailed (unless you are reading this well in the future and it is now out of date).

At first I thought it looked like a shopping cart and thought it is no doubt on its way here so my wife can take delivery and fit all the stuff she gets at Target in in it!!
