  1. heres a transmission & engine for sale i found that might help u out ... https://cnj.craigslist.org/pts/6164946918.html
  2. OZ , have you taken your trans apart to verify if its a total boat anchor ?? i doubt you will need to change the heavy trans body parts or converter ..it would be viable for you ascertain what new internals you require & aquire the internal parts you need rather than shipping over the pond a heavy complete transmission ... your 57 buick does not interchange transmissions with other previous buick yr makes except the 1958 which is same as 1957 because of the trans to torqueball set up. There was a guy selling a complete engine & trans on Gumtree only weeks ago ...but seems the AD is no longer listed.. but it could come back soon as gumtree ads last only 30 days until it needs relisting.. so keep an eye out for that ..by the way the 57 buick red wheel skirts listed for sale on gumtree are mine
  3. thankyou for the heads up gentlemen ... i dare say the scammers also have a problem to find even a decent one .... im not even hearing from them either ..
  4. was the 57 convertible a sky blue over a dark green ? .. cos i believe its now being sold elsewhere
  5. thankyou ! i noticed in claz the black convertible but no answer from owner ..must be sold
  6. maybe classified ads for sale in newspapers or in auto magazines is the way to go ? .. being that listing online isnt for everyone especially those whom are elderly & still have their 1957/58 plymouth in their shed that they cant drive anymore ?? or is that now old fable & no longer applicable
  7. yes i saw this one from the Moto-exotica team ...currently on ebay also ... & for me its missing something .. needs the side hockey stick trim...without it ...BoOOooring !!
  8. great news ..sell them both to the mechanic bringing the rebuilt trans ... do him a deal .. he can take them & refurbish them both
  9. i would go see it being only 20 miles away & assess this sellers educated mentality to recondition a transmission ..then obtain a receipt on purchase that implies full refund if deemed & tested to be a mere boat anchor..
  10. this just came up if still interested... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1957-1958-Buick-Dynaflow-Transmission-Rebuilt-fits-Nailhead-Engine-/182631661138?hash=item2a85b1fe52:g:zUUAAOSwjk9ZSvYY&vxp=mtr
  11. i have not come across anything presentable or in reasonable condition..most that do appear need total restoration or if they are in somewhat reasonable shape ..they have non factory plymouth engines fitted ..i was hoping someone may know someone who knows someone that had one for sale or find one in a classified AD in their local newspapers
  12. Thankyou Auburnseeker ..i hope to hear back from you at some point with a find ..i doubt it will be easy
  13. yep well aware of forwardlook.com & the few i have found are customised or have non factory matching engines ie 383ci & 423ci, 440ci etc ..prefer factory engine atleast ie: 301ci, 318ci ,350ci etc .. distance is not an issue & im patient .
  14. oh ok ..you like the 59 Plymouth coupes ...i actually found one for you just as nice cond for half that price... $22000. ono ! ...check it out . http://www.cars-on-line.com/gen3-cars/col1/posting/88434
  15. I dont mind the movie ...i just dont understand why most owners are trying to restore their plymouths like the movie car & in red ..i would love one in black with gold stripe..or in aqua color with gold stripe or like this one below ..or the beige with gold hockey stripe ....anything but red !!! actually the Fury below sold 2 yrs ago for $38000 in a mecum auction ..its just BEAUTIFUL !! although at the time was an older restoration But still kept well.. i would of bid on it but Mecum wanted my $$$$ that i was prepared to bid for it upfront days before the Auction & if i failed to win the Auction ..my $$$$ would be issued back after 1-2 months by cheque . I was not prepared to do that. but someone got lucky
  16. ** WANTED ** 1957 1958 PLYMOUTH COUPE 2DR .. PLEASE PM IF YOU HAVE OR KNOW OF SOMEONE SELLING .. NO INTEREST IN PARTS CAR OR COMPLETE RESTORATION VEHICLE ..WOULD CONSIDER A PART RESTORATION CAR.. thankyou !
  17. Thanks for your input guys.. but im not after any wrecked or parts car or anything that needs complete restoration ! something that needs little to no restoration.
  18. Looking to buy 1957 1958 plymouth 2dr hardtop .. Private message me if you have one for sale ...Thankyou !!
  19. Brandon, ...Russ, said 1173313 will fit & i agree that it will fit ...but the ports are different sizes !!! I showed you pic of the under side of the 4BBL 1173313 manifold you seek & what Russ, has informed you to buy here is pic of that manifold top with part # Russ, asked you that would fit ..... under this pic is a pic of the top of the 2BBL manifold you have on your car right now with part # 1173878 go check your manifold on your car & you will see you have this part # 1173878 on your manifold . then go back & look at the pics of both manifolds underneath on bottom of page 1 ....there is a major difference in port sizes.... this Russ, guy is about to get you burnt my friend ..when you take your 2bbl manifold off measure the inlets ...then when you speak with a seller with 4bbl 1173313 manifold ask them to provide measurement of inlet ports on that manifold...there will be significant difference ! ask Russ ..whats the difference between a 364ci in a Special & a 364ci in a Super or Roadmaster ...he will say " there is no difference " ..then go to your 1957 Buick factory chassis manual under engine specifications ...
